SVFD Members are 100% volunteer and are almost always responding to emergencies from home or work.
The Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department is an engine company that has operated since 1947 primarily providing fire, rescue and EMS services.
The station is situated in Allegheny County next to the Washington County Line and on the borders of South and North Fayette Townships.
This annually provides Sturgeon VFD approximately 200 emergency responses of varying types in and around our fire zone, our township, and our county.
ON THE PROPOSED FINANCING BY Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. located at 526 Main Street in Sturgeon,
Pennsylvania (the Issuer), will allow for public comment on September 16 th , 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the social hall of
the Issuer (also located at 526 Main Street in Sturgeon, Pennsylvania), for the purpose of holding a public hearing
pursuant to the requirements of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, on a proposal
the Issuer enter into an agreement to finance certain equipment. The equipment to be financed consists of (1)
New Spartan Custom Pumper Truck and One (1) Used Pierce Contender Rescue Truck and will be maintained at
the fire station in Sturgeon, Pennsylvania.
To Finance the costs of such equipment and to pay costs and expenses incidental to financing, the Issuer
proposes to enter into a loan agreement with a maximum aggregate principal amount not to exceed $662,952.02.
The Issuer will be required to pay all taxes on the equipment. The rental payments due pursuant to the loan
agreement will be secured by the security interest in the equipment.
All persons interested may attend and be heard at said time and place or may file written comments with the
Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. prior to the date of the hearing set forth heretofore.
